A Sundarbans trip is slower and more weather-dependent than a city break. The quality of your operator, boat, permits and safety planning matters as much as the route.

Choose a responsible operator
Ask who manages the boat, what permits are included, how safety is handled and what the group size will be. A clear itinerary is a good sign.
- Confirm departure point, duration and accommodation on the boat or at camp.
- Ask about life jackets, first aid and emergency communication.
- Follow park instructions and keep a respectful distance from wildlife.
- Do not treat a wildlife sighting as a guarantee.

Pack for the river
Bring light, breathable clothing, sun protection, insect protection, a small dry bag and any personal medicines. Keep luggage compact and easy to secure.
Build in a buffer
Boat and road schedules can change with weather and river conditions. Avoid connecting a forest journey directly to a time-critical flight.
